Behind the lens

I’m Deanna Dunham — photographer, designer, storyteller, and the creative heart behind Okanagan Wine Photography. This work is more than images to me; it’s an extension of everything I’ve built through Deanna Dunham Designs and Little Joys Photography.

Before moving into self-employment, I worked in the Okanagan wine industry for many years — in sales, tasting rooms, and as a wine shop manager — which gave me firsthand insight into what connects with customers and how a winery’s story is best shared. For the past eight years, I’ve been behind the scenes with Heaven’s Gate Winery, managing their social media, designing labels, and creating the imagery that supports their brand.

From wine labels and branding to family portraits filled with love, my creative journey has always been about capturing connection — whether that’s the bond between people or the deep roots between land and wine.

With Okanagan Wine Photography, I bring all of these threads together. My background in graphic design, marketing, and WSET Level 3 wine education, paired with my deep industry experience (and being married to a viticulturist!), means I understand both the artistry and the science behind each bottle. I don’t just photograph wine; I translate the story of your craft into imagery that feels authentic, elevated, and timeless.
